Wildfire that threatened Arta hospital and homes under control
A wildfire that broke out near the city of Arta in northwestern Greece on Sunday was under partial control on Monday morning.
Two water bombing airplanes helped in the effort to put out the blaze, which got to within a few hundred meters of a local hospital and homes.
Bulgaria's TV7, BBT File for Bankruptcy With Sofia City Court
The TV7 and BBT TV channels filed for bankruptcy with the Sofia City Court, in accordance with the Commercial Act, reports Dnevnik.bg.
“With this move the company hopes to protect itself from invalid claims of creditors,” said the management of the two connected companies in a statement to the media.

In a report prepared by two opposition deputies, shocking incidents were revealed in the Juvenile Ward of the Adana Ceyhan Prison, which included rape; while guards at the prison complained of prisoners throwing razor blades and pouring boiling water on them.

61-year-old woman disarms masked attacker
NIŠ -- When a masked armed man tried to force his way into her apartment, a 61-year-old woman in the southern Serbian town of Niš "fought back," the police said.
She took away his pistol, and ripped the mask off his face, a statement noted.

Large Bear Scares Family
A large bear scared a family travelling in their car in the Yundola area above the town of Velingrad in the Rhodopes, reports Darik radio.
The husband said the bear jumped in front of the car shortly after midnight on Thursday when the family was driving back from a vacation in Greece.
The bear also got scared and ran away in the woods, according to the reports.

'Game of Thrones' Season Finale Breaks Viewer Record
HBO's blood-drenched “Game of Thrones” fantasy series rounded up 7.1 M total viewers for its Season 4 finale on Sunday in the US, according to Nielsen.
That was a 32% climb from the third-season ender a year ago and easily the biggest season finale yet for “Game of Thrones”, which is an adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy novel series “Song of Ice and Fire”.

Egypt's prosecutor general on June 16 ordered the release of Al-Jazeera journalist Abdullah Elshamy, who has been on hunger strike for nearly five months, the official MENA news agency reported.
