Serbia and North Macedonia have shown interest in participating in neighbouring Bulgaria's project for construction of Belene nuclear power plant (NPP), Bulgarian deputy prime minister Tomislav Donchev said, reports SeeNews. 

The local gas extraction in the Black Sea is among the most realistic types of diversification of the energy sources the Bulgarian government strives towards, reported the Bulgarian National Radio. 

Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said that Bulgaria will build "Turkish Stream".

In an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio, she explained that the procedure is in line with the European rules and that the aim is to keep Bulgaria's key position on the gas map in Europe.

The Bulgarian authorities plan to start selecting a strategic investor for the construction of the Belene nuclear power plant before the end of February, Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said in an interview with the national radio on Sunday, reports TASS.

The US Company General Electric expressed interest in participating as potential supplier of equipment and engineer of the Belene NPP project, reported the Bulgarian National Radio.

Measures to stabilise the prices at the free electricity market were discussed at a meeting in the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission on 14th of January, reported the Bulgarian National Television.

The construction of the Greece-Bulgaria gas interconnector should start within 2-3 months, Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova told MPs in response to a question about gas supplies from Azerbaijan, Focus News Agencyreports. She said that building necessary infrastructure and concluding supply contracts were prerequisites for gas diversification.

At an extraordinary sitting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation employers and syndicates voiced their concern with the situation on the electricity market and the substantial increase in the price of electricity for industrial consumers, reported the Bulgarian National Radio. 

Bulgaria's government said that it has approved the transfer of 30% of the exploration rights on offshore Block 1-14 Khan Kubrat to the local branch of Australia's Woodside Energy from the current sole holder, Shell International Exploration and Development Italia, reports SeeNews. 

Bulgaria has no intention to change the structure of Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH), the parent of gas companies Bulgargaz and Bulgatransgaz, BTV has reported.
