Transparent Bidding: Bulgaria's Beach Rental System Set for Overhaul
The Ministry of Tourism in Bulgaria has unveiled plans for significant reforms in the tender procedures for beach rentals across the country, aiming to enhance transparency and fairness in the process.
Skaramangas tenders are in the pipeline
In the next few weeks, probably within February, a new announcement will be issued for the sale of Skaramangas Shipyards, both by the company's administrator and the Hellenic Public Properties Company (ETAD).
The two tenders that will run in parallel follow the previous, inconclusive process whose failure is attributed to ETAD's "maximalistic" original approach to the asking price.

Over 280 sites to be tendered for mining
The Turkish Energy and Natural Sources Ministry has decided to hold tenders to open 284 sites to mining, according to the Official Gazette.
The mentioned 284 mining sites were put out to tender previously, but the tenders were canceled because there was not adequate number of bidders, the decision of the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) said yesterday.

More efforts planned to rehabilitate Kurbağalıdere creek
A new tender has been held to select a company to carry out additional work to rehabilitate Kurbağalıdere, one of the central creeks in Istanbul's Kadıköy district on the Asian side.
Some 250 million Turkish Liras (around $39 million) have been spent over the past eight years to clean the highly polluted creek.
BIRN Database Shows Bosnia Pays Dear for Officials’ Limos
Over 10.6 million KM - equal to 5 million euros - was spent on purchasing 329 official limousines in Bosnia in 2018 whose price averaged 32,000 KM, or about 16,000 euros, a BIRN database reveals. In total, it recorded tenders to procure 1,666 official vehicles, worth about 46 million euros, in 2018.
Bulgarian City of Stara Zagora Starts Water Network Expansion
The municipal council of Stara Zagora said it has opened a 1.9 million levs ($1.1 million /986,800 euro) tender for expansion and reconstruction of the water and sewerage network of two districts of the city, reports SeeNews.

PPC looking forward to investors from China in lignite unit tender
The new tender for the concession of the Public Power Corporation units at Megalopoli and Meliti opened last Friday, with investors appearing reserved before they see the sale-and-purchase agreement (SPA) terms and the utility itself hoping to see an expansion in investor interest.
Koç unit bids in power plant tender
Turkish LPG distribution company Aygaz said on Sept. 12 its Entek Elektrik Üretim unit, jointly owned with parent Koc Holding, has bid in a tender to operate two hydroelectric power stations.
A previous privatization tender in 2016 for the two power plants, Menzelet and Kılavuzlu, had been canceled, Aygaz said in a statement to the Istanbul stock exchange.

'Red lines' vs 'sharp lines' in foreign policy
After attending the "Victory Day" reception at the presidency on Aug. 30, I drew the following conclusions:
- Turkey is ready to conduct all kinds of maneuvers to prevent unwanted situations and fait accomplis to its south. Whatever is necessary will be done. The decision has been taken. I saw the sense of relief that this decision has been taken at the highest level.
