62-year-old veteran sniper has killed 173 ISIS fighters (vid)

A 62-year-old veteran sniper has killed at least 173 ISIS fighters in Iraq after he volunteered to join the fight against jihad in his home country.

A footage shows Abu Tahseen allegedly shooting and hitting a militant from the mountains in Iraq.

Mr Tahseen has fought in five conflicts and he is an expert in spotting the target and shooting it.

In Iraq, the death toll from devastating back-to-back market bombings carried out by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group the previous day in eastern Baghdad climbed to 73 on Feb. 29, officials said.

Iraq court sentences 40 to death over 2014 Tikrit massacre

An Iraqi court on Feb. 18 sentenced 40 men to death over the June 2014 massacre by jihadists and allied militants of hundreds of military recruits in Tikrit, a statement said.

The central criminal court in Baghdad found 40 of 47 defendants guilty of involvement in the "Speicher" massacre, named after the base near where the victims were captured before being executed.
