Low visibility delays flight to Thessaloniki airport
A flight from Athens to Thessaloniki was delayed by two hours on Thursday due to low visibility at the northern port city's international airport, state-run news agency ANA-MPA reported.
Greece's National Meteorological Service (EMY) said fog at the airport limits visibility to 100 meters creating problems for landing aircraft. It expects visibility to gradually improve after 10 a.m.
Fraport eyes new developments at Makedonia airport
Fraport Greece is considering implementing additional non-obligatory investments at Thessaloniki's Makedonia Airport, including the construction and operation of a hotel. The German-Greek consortium has completed most of the initial 450-million-euro investment program in the 14 regional airports it operates.

Greek airline Sky Express partners with Qatar Airways
Greek airline Sky Express said on Thursday it had signed an agreement with Qatar Airways to cooperate on flights connecting Doha with the Greek islands, in a boost to the country's key tourism industry.
Tourism accounts for about a quarter of economic output in Greece, which saw a record number of about 33 million visitors last year.
Anarchists protest Syria incursion at Turkish Airlines check-in desk
A group of anarchists protested Turkey's incursion into Syrian territory in front of the check-in desk of Turkish Airlines, inside Thessaloniki's Makedonia international airport on Thursday afternoon.
The protesters entered the airport departures area shortly after 5 p.m., unfurled a banner and shouted slogans against Turkey's action for about 20 minutes, according to local media.
Passenger traffic up 4.7 pct this year
Passenger traffic at Greece's airports rose 4.7 percent year-on-year in the first seven months of 2019, figures compiled by the Civil Aviation Authority show.
The total number of arrivals and departures during this period was 35.52 million, up from 33.92 million in the first seven months of 2018.

Fraport points to passenger growth at Makedonia Airport

Passengers traveling through Greek airports up 8.4 percent in January-April
Passenger traffic at the country's airports rose by 8.4 percent year-on-year over the first four months of 2019, reaching 10.71 million, against 9.88 million in the January-April 2018 period, Civil Aviation Authority figures showed on Monday.
