Bulgaria and Greece Signed the Memorandum for a New Railway Connection
Bulgaria and Greece signed a memorandum on the development of the Thessaloniki-Kavala-Alexandroupolis-Burgas-Varna-Rousse railway link, NOVA informs.
The project envisages connecting the Danube, Black and Aegean Seas with a fast rail corridor as well as port development.

Bulgarian Minister of Transport Ivaylo Moskovski has said that on 6 September in Kavala, Greece, an intergovernmental memorandum will be signed between Bulgaria and Greece for a new railway connection between the Greek ports of Thessaloniki, Kavala and Alexandroupolis and the Bulgarian ports of Burgas and Varna on the Black Sea, and Ruse on the Dunabe River.
Anti-establishment groups protest at ministry in Thessaloniki

Kyriakos Mitsotakis to visit Thessaloniki
The leader of Greece’s major opposition party New Democracy, Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to visit Thessaloniki on Monday before his official attendance at the the International Fair on September 16 and 17. Mr. Mitsotakis will hold a series of meetings including members of the city’s local economy, scientific and academic community starting at 10.30 in in the morning.

Police bust human smuggler after chase
Police have arrested a 39-year-old man on charges of human trafficking after a vehicle chase along Egnatia Odos highway in northern Greece.
Officials tried to stop the van after it drove through the Analipsi toll station, near Thessaloniki. The 39-year-old driver refused to stop, leading to a police chase for several kilometers.

US Embassy closed on September 4
