Shrines located within the stores lining the main square of the Ancient Thracian, Greek, and Roman city of Heraclea Sintica near Petrich in Southwest Bulgaria have been discovered by archaeologists - alongside evidence of Heraclea Sintica's Late Antiquity rivalry with the nearby Roman city of Parthicopolis (near today's town of Sandanski).

Bulgaria's Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv Older by Nearly a Century
A newly-discovered sign reads that the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv was built in the 90's of the 1st century AD and not as previously thought between 116 and 117 AD, announced the Mayor of Plovdiv Ivan Totev and archaeologists Maya Martinova and Nikolay Sharankov, who read the sign.

The numerous Thracian gold treasures, which have been excavated in Bulgaria over the years, have unleashed a gold rush in the country.
In the past years, more and more Bulgarians have started searching the country's rivers for specks of the precious metal, a recent article by AFP claims.
Bulgaria To Exhibit Thracian Treasures In Paris' Louvre
Bulgaria will exhibit Thracian treasures in the Louvre in Paris next year, reports the Standart daily.
The exhibition "Antique Thrace - The Odrysian Kingdom" will feature the Panagyurishte golden treasure and 325 exhibits - mostly golden and silver items from various treasures.
Traces of Thracean tastes

During the closing reception, a stocky guy walked directly toward me and introduced himself. He was a professor at Namık Kemal University.
