What can visitors expect when they head to Elefsina on Saturday and Sunday (February 4 and 5) to attend the festivities for the West Attica town's inauguration as a European Capital of Culture? Rodos Park hotel adopts a new identity
Luxury hotel Rodos Park, in the medieval part of Rhodes Town, announced this week it has obtained a new identity and website (rodospark.gr) with "Philoxenia at Heart" as its central motto.
It intends to highlight the high-standard experience offered combined with a love for arts and culture at the historic five-star hotel.

Remains of man found in Cretan gorge
Firefighters and police in Crete have retrieved the body of an unidentified man from Aradena gorge, after the remains were spotted by a hiker as he was crossing a metal bridge over the ravine.
According to information from the Hania bureau of state broadcaster ERT, the body is that of a middle-aged American citizen, whose car has already been found.

Ancient Nemea stadium to reopen
The stadium of Ancient Nemea will reopen on Wednesday to visitors, local MP and Alternate Development and Investments Minister Christos Dimas said on Tuesday.
The 4th-century BC stadium in Corinthia had shut down over a lack of security.

Jewish community: Holocaust remembrance is ‘sacred mission’
In the leadup to International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece (KIS) has said that the responsibility to pass on the memory of the Holocaust "is a sacred mission."
In a statement, the KIS noted that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the deportation of Jews from the German and Bulgarian occupation zones of Greece.
Two brothers die in Zakynthos house fire
Two brothers have died in a house fire on the island of Zakynthos.
Firefighters found the remains of the two men, aged 43 and 54, during an operation to extinguish a fire in a detached house in Zakynthos town.
Investigators are examining the cause of the fatal blaze.
Public broadcaster ERT has said initial indications attribute the blaze to a short circuit.
