Greece at forefront of state-of-the-art photovoltaics
The world's first factory to produce the new third-generation photovoltaics, which can deliver electricity from almost anywhere the sun shines, will be created in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, as part of a major European project.

Magnitude 5.9 earthquake strikes off the coast of Rhodes
A strong temblor rocked the southeast Aegean island of Rhodes on Wednesday. No damage was initially reported.
According to the revised assessment of the Geodynamic Institute, it was a magnitude 5.9 temblor and occurred at 2.37 p.m. with an epicenter in the sea, 58 kilometers southeast of Lindos, at a depth of 22 km. The initial estimate was 5.7 Richter.

GNTO to open office in Melbourne

Structure believed to be long-lost temple to Poseidon unearthed in Peloponnese
The remains of a 2,500-year-old structure unearthed at an archaeological dig in the western Peloponnese may be those of a temple dedicated to the god of the sea, Poseidon, and mentioned by the ancient Greek geographer and historian Strabo, according to archaeologists.
