Hiking in Ymittos

Mount Ymittos in Athens, Attica, is covered with beautiful pine forest, impressive caves, historic monasteries and many marked footpaths and is very close to the center of Athens.

It is also a great birdwatching area and attracts an impressive number of bird species.

French and Brits agree: Two suicide bombers of the Stade de France passed through Greece

French authorities published the photo of the third suicide bomber that blew himself up outside the Stade de Franch in Paris on the night of November 13 as one in a series of multiple attacks around the French capital. The man, known as Mahmoud al Mahmod, was identified by the BBC as a man who entered the Greek island of Leros on October 3 with another attacker, called Ahmad al Mohammad.

Body of missing US citizen found on Zakynthos

The body of a 32-year-old citizen of US and of Chinese descent was found on Saturday afternoon by a fisherman on Navagio beach on Zakynthos island.

The body was seriously injured and dismembered and his car was located on the same area.

According to police, the tourist had checked out from his hotel and on Saturday was declared missing.

The bride was 85 years of age, and the spouse was 33!

Kefalonia, in the Ionian sea, was the venue for a wedding between a 33-year-old and his 85-year-old bride. Kefaloniapress.gr reports that both the bride and groom came from well-known families on the island and that the groom had chased the woman for six months until she finally succumbed to his charms and said, “I do!”

A graffiti covering 2,000 sq meters opens to public

The biggest graffiti in an industrial site in Greece will open to public from 21 to 22 November at TITAN industry in Thessaloniki within the framework of the Open House Thessaloniki 2015.

The graffiti covers a 2,000 square meters area and artists Christos and Vassilis Galazoulas painted it aiming to link the natural and the industrial environment.

Magnitude 6.1 quake strikes Lefkada, rattles half of Greece (vids)

A strong earthquake struck the island of Lefkada in the Ionian Sea with its epicenter 23 km southwest of the main town of Lefkada.

The Athens Geodynamic Institute says the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.1 and occurred at 9:10 a.m. (0710 GMT) Tuesday off Greece’s western mainland, some 300 kilometers (186 miles) west of Athens.
