The international animation festival Animasyros 8.0 will get underway this week on the Cyclades island of Syros, with a tribute to noted Israeli director Ari Folman and screenings of his works a highlight of events.
Folman is also set to premiere a short segment of his new animated work based on the Anne Frank’s Diary.

Evagelos Venizelos exercised his right to vote at Thessaloniki and said exiting the polling station: “The Greek people will find what they are looking for and what they deserve by using their own efforts, their own work and through unity. All surveys show that people want all forces to be united. And I hope this to be ensured today. “

At least 28 people drowned in another migrant tragedy off Greece on Sunday, as Athens angrily defended its handling of the mounting refugee crisis in Europe. 

The Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE) on Thursday announced that 2015 expected to witness the arrivals of roughly 26 million tourists and related tourism revenue worth more than 14.5 billion euros, both record-breaking figures.
