Travel receipts rose by more than 10 pct last year
Last year saw a double-digit increase in tourism revenues and a marginal rise in the average expenditure of visitors per night spent in Greece, according to the definitive figures released by the country's central bank.

Bulgaria's Minister of Tourism Predicts Good Summer Season
Bulgaria's Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova told BNT that she expected a good summer tourist season this year, predicting a growth of tourists between 5% and 10%. She noted that the number of tourists from Russia is expected to remain the same as last year, as the geopolitical situation has an impact on the flow of tourists.
Greece is trailing in high-income tourists
While Greece is one of the four top Mediterranean destinations for travelers - coming after Spain and Italy, and tying with Turkey by attracting about 15 percent of tourists in the region - it is a laggard in luxury tourism, a survey by the Greek tourism businesses association SETE showed.

Tourism sector eyes record high number of Russians

More than 450,000 Tourists are Expected to Visit Bulgaria during the Easter Holidays
During the Easter holidays more than 450 000 tourists are expected to visit different regions in Bulgaria, tourism minister Nikolina Angelkova predicted in Kardzhali.
She participated in a Round Table entitled "Prospects for the Development of Cultural and Historical Tourism" at the invitation of the local structure of KRIB.
50,000 Bulgarians will Celebrate Easter Abroad
About 50,000 will travel abroad for the upcoming holidays, most will be in neighboring Greece. Some of them have already started - from the previous week, announced Rumen Draganov, director of the Institute for Tourism Analysis and Appraisals, in the morning block of BNT.
