Turkey wants to boost halal tourism: Minister

Turkey will speed up works to develop "halal tourism" in a bid to lure even more Muslim tourists, Culture and Tourism Minister Mahir Ünal said at the opening of the Halal Tourism Conference 2016 in the Central Anatolian province of Konya. 

Ünal said Turkey is stepping up its efforts to boost halal tourism, which has a share of around 12 percent in the global tourism. 

Russia and Greece to strengthen tourism ties in Athens Conference

A bilateral tourism conference between Greece and Russia, called ‘Russia-Greece: Prospects of cooperation in tourism’, will be held between May 10 and 13 in Athens. The two sides will exchange ideas and explore the prospects of expanding their collaboration in the tourism industry.

Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova expects more than 100 000 Romanians to visit Bulgaria during the forthcoming Orthodox Easter.

Angelkova said this in the city of Varna on Friday at the start of a series of meetings across the country initiated by her, which are to assess the readiness for the forthcoming summer season.
