We have the choice of preserving them and using this resource wisely for all or squandering it for a minority to make a quick profit. The popular "towel movement" brought to focus some of these issues demonstrating that the use of this resource is neither equitable nor sustainable.

According to the residents of the hospital near "Vranya" Street, this has been happening for several months.

Discarded sacks are filled with medication packs, gauzes and paper towels used after ultrasound.

Today is Midwives' Day

With a variety of colorful rituals, Bulgaria marks the day of midwives on January 21 on the so-called Babinden.

Traditions have it that early in the morning the midwives visit the children they have delivered, and wash their faces with water. Then the mother of the child helps the midwifewash her hands and gives her a bar of soap and a towel as a gift.
