Turkey is planning to begin administering COVID-19 vaccines by this weekend, probably on Jan. 14 or Jan. 15, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said, adding that coronavirus-related restrictions will be eased gradually when the infection numbers fall under a certain number.

The National Committee for the Coordination of Anti-COVID Vaccination informs that, in the past 24 hours, 16,896 people have taken the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, according to data provided by the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), through the National Electronic Register of Vaccinations application.

Greek health authorities have vaccinated 49,661 people with the first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 jab since the country received its first batch on December 27, according to a health ministry official on Monday.

Speaking at the daily press conference on developments with the pandemic, Marios Themistokleous said the number corresponds to 0,46% of the Greek population.

A total of 361.782 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Serbia since the outbreak of the epidemic, and 2.410.824 tests have been performed.

"We will maintain these measures, we will not tighten them. Schools should start working, students should return to the benches or a combined teaching model should be applied. We must also keep the PCR test or the quarantine measure for those who do not have it," he said.
