A 41-year-old police officer involved in the fatal shooting of a Roma youth during a weekend altercation with police following a car chase in Viotia is expected to appear before a prosecutor on Thursday.

In a startling incident in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, a child, estimated to be 5-6 years old, was spotted steering a public transport bus. The alarming event occurred on line number 10, with witnesses describing a risky journey through the bustling "Trakia" district. The child, sitting on the driver's lap, reportedly handled the wheel for about ten minutes before disembarking at the next stop.

In a deadly traffic accident in Thessaloniki on Wednesday afternoon, a city bus crossed to the opposite traffic lane sweeping away a motorbike, a taxi and another car. The woman driving the motorbike has died.

The bus driver as well as the drivers of the other two vehicles have been injured and transferred to the hospital.

Only on Sunday, September 3, as many as five road passengers were killed, Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
In a collision between a "Fiat Punto" vehicle, which was moving in the opposite direction, and a "Hyundai" on the Milo Veliki highway in the territory of Surin, one person was killed, while one person was seriously and one person slightly injured.

After another tragedy with a killed child on a pedestrian walkway, a protest is organized tonight, demanding justice and tighter control of violators on the road. Relatives of those killed in crashes will gather at 6:00 p.m. in front of the Ministry of Interior, a few meters from the place where a drunk driver killed 15-year-old Philip on Saturday night.

Witnesses to the incident told BNT that shortly after 9 p.m., a boy was crossing the pedestrian crossing on "General Gurko" and "Tsar Ivan Shishman" streets when he was swept away by a speeding car.

The "suffering, irritation and indignation" of drivers who were trapped for hours on Thursday in their vehicles on the Athens-Corinth motorway after police closed traffic following a fire that broke out on a fuel truck was "completely understandable and respected," the police and fire service have said in a joint statement.

Two officers of the DIAS motorcycle unit were injured during a car chase in central Athens early Thursday morning. 

Police said a patrol car crew spotted a vehicle moving on the wrong direction on Pipinou Street at around 2:15 in the morning, and signaled the driver to stop, but he sped off. A chase ensued, involving other police forces, including the DIAS team. 

Due to the increased traffic to the Southern Black Sea coast, the Burgas police launched a specialized operation. It is mainly directed against road control.
