Bulgarian Road Police Launches 5-Day Operation “Resorts”
As of today and until 23 February, a new specialized police operation is underway to ensure compliance with road traffic rules, with a different focus in different regions of the country. This was announced by Chief Inspector Lachezar Bliznakov from the Traffic Police Department with the National Police General Directorate.
Bulgarian Traffic Police Will Patrol Small Towns and Villages Hunting Drunk Drivers
Traffic police continue to watch out for motorists who dare driving under the influence, i.e. impaired by alcohol or other drugs. Over 13,000 different traffic violations were detected within five days - from 8 to 13 January, announced Chief Inspector Lachezar Bliznakov from the Traffic Police at a briefing today, as quoted by BGNES.

Bulgaria's border authorities are now checking on eight border crossings whether drivers have received their electronic tickets and paid their fines. Drivers are required to pay all their unpaid fines. If they refuse to do so, their driving license is seized. The vehicle is also seized, if it is owned by the violator.
Traffic Police launch crackdown over long weekend
Greece's Traffic Police issued more than 1,100 fines to motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or while using a cellphone in the period between June 1 and 7, according to figures released on Tuesday.
