Bulgaria Seeks to Improve Road Safety with Revised Traffic Light Ordinance
A new ordinance aimed at improving road safety by enhancing traffic light regulations has been drafted and released for public discussion by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Transport, as well as Regional Development and Public Works.

The police has launched a preliminary administrative inquiry in the wake of the uproar caused by a video that is making the rounds on the internet in which an officer of the DIAS motorcycle unit is seen doing a wheelie on a main road in the port city of Thessaloniki in northern Greece.

Pedestrian dies in Faliro car-tram collision
One pedestrian was fatally injured and another seriously when a car collided with a tram at Edem station on Thursday in the southern Athenian suburb of Palaio Faliro.
The car deviated from its lane and crashed into the oncoming tram after violating a traffic light and hitting the two pedestrians. According to Urban Rail Transport (STASY), no passengers were injured.

Woman dies in traffic accident with tram
A vehicle collided with the tram at Edem station on Thursday in the southern Athenian suburb of Palaio Faliro.
The car deviated from its lane and crashed into the oncoming tram after violating a traffic light and hitting two pedestrians.
One passerby was fatally injured, and another was hospitalized at Nikaia General Hospital and is in critical condition.

The British government will update its travel list and is expected to add several European countries to its green list of safe countries.

Athens to get ‘smart’ traffic light system
The Athens Traffic Police said on Monday that a "smart" traffic light system equipped with surveillance cameras to monitor pedestrians and motorists will soon be piloted in the Greek capital.
The exact location where the system will be installed was not revealed. The results of the pilot program will be evaluated in order to expand the measure throughout Attica.
