Calls grow for reduction on speed limits
In view of the death of six people in seven road accidents over 24 hours from Thursday through to Friday, activists are calling for stiffer penalties and reduction of speed limits.
SOS Traffic Crimes, set up by relatives of traffic victims, has been pushing for a change in the legal framework, as currently road accidents are legally designated a misdemeanor or manslaughter.

Traffic regulations planned on Wed. for Grigoropoulos anniversary rallies
Extraordinary traffic regulations will be put in place on various roads in the center of Athens during the afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday, December 6, due to the rallies and marches announced to mark the 15th anniversary of the murder of teenager Alexandros Grigoropoulos by a police officer in Exarchia.
Standstill traffic
The region of Attica has a huge problem with traffic. One would expect that the government, in collaboration with the local authorities, would study the issue and take measures, not necessarily of immediate effect, as the problem does not only concern traffic police.

Bulgaria: Two People Died in a Car Accident near Pomorie
A serious accident between three cars took place on the Burgas - Pomorie road. Two people died in the accident, four others were injured. Among the victims there is also a mother and child, who were transported to a Burgas hospital for treatment.
The accident happened around 1:00 p.m. Fire crews are trying to extricate two other people who are stuck in the hit cars.
Woman dies in Thessaloniki traffic accident
In a deadly traffic accident in Thessaloniki on Wednesday afternoon, a city bus crossed to the opposite traffic lane sweeping away a motorbike, a taxi and another car. The woman driving the motorbike has died.
The bus driver as well as the drivers of the other two vehicles have been injured and transferred to the hospital.

No traffic police
We can see it daily in the streets: The traffic police are completely absent.
The mission of the traffic police division should be redesigned from scratch in order to be able to respond to modern-day needs, and to be able to intervene, quickly and efficiently, where necessary, using the new technological tools that monitor traffic and confirm violations.
We are far behind.

Air traffic to increase in autumn as tourist season is extended
Air traffic in Greece from August 28 to October 22 is expected by the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation, commonly known as Eurocontrol, to be 10% to 30% higher than in 2022, due to the extension of the tourism season as more travelers opt for holidays outside the hottest months of the year.
Police and fire service acknowledge motorists’ ire following motorway delays
The "suffering, irritation and indignation" of drivers who were trapped for hours on Thursday in their vehicles on the Athens-Corinth motorway after police closed traffic following a fire that broke out on a fuel truck was "completely understandable and respected," the police and fire service have said in a joint statement.
