Whistleblowers Get Better Protection in Serbia
A new law offering stronger protection to those who reveal abuses and corruption goes into effect in Serbia this week.
So far whistleblowers have had only administrative protection from the Anti-corruption Agency, but now they are entitled to court protection if they seek re-employment having been dismissed for reporting corruption, for example.

Transparency: Anti-corruption reforms lag behind schedule
BELGRADE - The non-governmental organisation Transparency Serbia (TS) has commented on the first year of the current government's term in office by saying that the anti-corruption reforms are lagging behind schedule, and that some important issues related to the battle against corruption have not been addressed properly.

Greece at the bottom of corruption index among EU peers
Greece scored 43 out of 100 points on the perception of corruption scale published by Berlin-based NGO Transparency International on Wednesday, but showing that it has made some progress from last year when it scored 40 points.
Serbia among highly corrupt countries
BELGRADE - At 41, Serbia's score in the Transparency International's (TI) Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for 2014 saw a slight fall, and ranked 78th among 175 countries, Serbia is still a highly corrupt country, Transparency Serbia (TS), TI's national chapter in the country, told a press conference in Belgrade Wednesday.
