Athens Airport set for expansion as demand for more space grows

Athens International Airport (AIA) will implement a three-phase investment plan to increase passenger service capacity in the coming years.

The company that has the airport concession contract until 2046 will proceed in February with the public registration of its share capital through the sale of the 30% stake currently held by TAIPED.

Agreement to upgrade staff training in first aid assistance at metro

A new memorandum of collaboration between the transport minister, the Hellenic Red Cross (HRC), and metro and tram manager STASY on Thursday, to upgrade first aid and emergency medical services to passengers at stations and on board.

Infrastructure & Transport Minister Christos Staikouras, HRC President Antonios Avgerinos, and STASY head Athanassios Kottaras signed the agreement.

Pedestrian dies in Faliro car-tram collision

One pedestrian was fatally injured and another seriously when a car collided with a tram at Edem station on Thursday in the southern Athenian suburb of Palaio Faliro.

The car deviated from its lane and crashed into the oncoming tram after violating a traffic light and hitting the two pedestrians. According to Urban Rail Transport (STASY), no passengers were injured.

Woman dies in traffic accident with tram

A vehicle collided with the tram at Edem station on Thursday in the southern Athenian suburb of Palaio Faliro.

The car deviated from its lane and crashed into the oncoming tram after violating a traffic light and hitting two pedestrians.

One passerby was fatally injured, and another was hospitalized at Nikaia General Hospital and is in critical condition.
