Work stoppage in buses and trolleys on Wednesday
Workers in Athens' buses and trolley-busses will continue their protest for a second day on Wednesday, with services running only between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., the Athens Urban Transport Organization's (OASA) workers' union said.
The union is calling for "safe and quality means of transport with respect to human lives." All other means of public transport will operate normally.

Parisians massively vote to banish for-hire e-scooters
Parisians have overwhelmingly voted to banish the French capital's ubiquitous for-hire electric scooters from their streets.
The 15,000 opinion-dividing mini-machines are now expected to vanish from central Paris at the end of August when the city's contracts with the three operators expire.

Total traffic jam in Belgrade; The vehicles stand still PHOTO
All three lanes are congested from the direction of New Belgrade and vehicles are standing still on a highway.
The reason for the traffic jam is a collision near "Sava Center".
At the same time, one vehicle broke down in the left lane, which further complicates traffic.

Toll collector held up at gunpoint in northern Athens
Police were looking on Tuesday for a man who held up a toll collector at the Doukissis Plakentias toll station, in northern Athens, on the Attiki Odos ring road.
The unidentified suspect rode up to the toll booth on a motorcycle at around 5.30 a.m. and threatened the collector with a gun, according to reports.
Tuesday’s metro strike called off after possible breakthrough in talks
A 24-hour strike called by workers at the Athens metro for Tuesday was called off after their union said that a "channel of communication" had been opened with the government to resolve long-standing issues.
Contractor stationmaster arrested over rail disaster released on conditions
A contractor stationmaster working for Hellenic Railways was conditionally released on Monday after testifying about his role in a February 28 rail disaster that claimed 57 lives.
The stationmaster will have to appear at his local police station and is banned from leaving the country.

Work stoppage on Athens metro (lines 2 and 3) from 9 p.m. Friday
Services on lines 2 (Red) and 3 (Blue) of the Athens will cease at 9 p.m. on Friday due to a work stoppage by metro workers.
The lines will remain closed until the end of shift.
Unions said they called the work stoppage to highlight problems with the metro system, such as the shortage of drivers, technicians, stationmasters and other specialized staff.
