From mass to experience tourism

Some people may foresee a dismal tourism future for Greece, with pharaonic hotel facilities developed at the expense of the natural environment, and throngs of tourists descending on the islands, which gradually lose their special character - but they are jumping the gun. The modern traveler has changed. They have other desires, other priorities, far from the model of mass tourism.

In the Second Half of 2019 More than a Million Bulgarians Made Tourist Trips

In the second quarter of 2019, 1,219.8 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a press release. The majority of them (75.7%), traveled only in the country, 19.1% - only abroad, and 5.2% traveled both in the country and abroad.

Scandinavian travelers’ impressions of Greece showcased at Nordic Library

For the Swedish orientalist and Greek philologist Jakob Jonas Bjornstahl - the first known Scandinavian traveler to visit Greece, in 1779 - Thessaly and the Vale of Tempe in the winter felt just like home.
