Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) signed two cooperation protocols on April 29 to meet the energy needs of the TRNC.

Turkey sent 40,000 more doses of a coronavirus vaccine early on April 20 to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). 

A Turkish Health Ministry plane carrying the vaccine doses landed at Ercan International Airport in Lefkoşa, where officials of the TRNC's Health Ministry received the shipment.

Turkey wants a "Cyprus that stands on its own feet and creates jobs for its youth," the Turkish vice president said on April 1. 

Fuat Oktay, who is on a working visit to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), was welcomed by locals at the Ercan International Airport in Lefkoşa.

He met with the residents of Köprülü village.

Turkey on March 26 decried the appointment of a force commander to the U.N. Peacekeeping Force on Cyprus (UNFICYP).

Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) signed a financial cooperation agreement on March 4. 

The signing ceremony for the Turkey-TRNC 2021 Economic and Monetary Cooperation Agreement was held after Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay received TRNC Prime Minister Ersan Saner and his commission.

Turkey's vice president on Feb. 10 underscored the need for a two-state solution for the long-divided island of Cyprus.

"We can talk and negotiate two separate states on the basis of two equal states and two equal societies on Cyprus," said Fuat Oktay, speaking to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) state broadcaster BRT.

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) extended nationwide lockdown until Feb. 11 to curtail the spread of coronavirus, the Health Ministry announced on Feb. 3. 

The Turkish foreign minister on Jan. 3 spoke with his British counterpart over the phone, according to diplomatic sources.

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Dominic Raab addressed bilateral relations and the Cyprus issue said diplomatic sources speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Any solution to the Cyprus problem must come on the basis of two states, the Turkish Cypriot president told the head of the U.N., said the country's spokesperson on Jan. 26. 

An official negotiation process on the Cyprus issue can only be started for a solution based on sovereign equality, the president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Jan. 13.
