From 2022 New Cars in the EU Must Have “Smart" Speed Control Systems

From mid-2022, all new cars placed on the EU market will need to be equipped with advanced safety systems. Following the agreement reached in March with the European Parliament, the EU Council representing the Member States has adopted a regulation on the general safety of motor vehicles and the protection of passengers and vulnerable road users.

Afghan boy aged 5 killed by truck near Moria migrant camp

A 5-year-old Afghan boy was accidentally run over by a truck near the migrant and refugee camp of Moria on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos on Tuesday.

According to preliminary reports from state broadcaster ERT, the boy was inside a cardboard box that the truck driver ran over while turning into the parking lot of a business where he was making a delivery.

Bulgarian Company Discordia Buys 280 New Trucks by the End of the Year

Discordia, the leading company in the field of transport and logistics in Bulgaria, has increased the number of its heavy-duty vehicles by 100 in the last six months to a total of 600 units.

By the end of the year, the company plans to invest in 180 new trucks, and by 2022 its management plans to have a total of 1,400 vehicles, the company said.

Bulgarian PM Borisov: The Toll System should Start Working in the Summer

The toll system should start operating in the summer, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said on May 20 during an inspection on the repair works of the Plovdiv - Assenovgrad road. According to him, the system is planned to become operational in August, but a month or two delay is possible until it is clarified for which roads the charges would apply, reports BNT.

The Trojan Pass is closed. During Prevala and Pechinsko passes and on the Batak-Dospat road, trucks above 12 tonnes must be without trailers and semi-trailers.
