Experts are restoring part of the Kasta Tomb in Amphipoli, northern Greece, the largest ancient burial mound ever discovered in the country. Based on a study by architect Michaelis Lefantzis, 25 scattered marble members of the 375 that were collected in 2019 were identified and assigned to their original position.

Dutch archaeologists on June 21 revealed an around 4,000-year-old religious site, dubbed the "Stonehenge of the Netherlands" in the country's media, which included a burial mound serving as a solar calendar.

"I travelled all around Turkey for work. From now on, I want to tour it as a tourist," Isabella Caneva, a 76-year-old professor in love with the country, told state-run Anadolu Agency.

Located in Turkey's western province of Manisa, the 2,700-year-old Bintepeler Tumuli, known to be the graves of Lydian kings, were plundered by treasure hunters, destroying the graves with construction equipment to quite an extent.

While two tumuli were feared to have been destroyed completely, works have been initiated to protect nearly 90 tumuli present in the region.
