TBM ready to start work on Line 4

Engineers of the AVAX-led consortium building Athens' new 13-kilometer metro line stand next to a tunnel boring machine (TBM) cutter head at the Katehaki site. Following consultations with local engineers, German tunneling company Herrenknecht supplied two approximately 100-meter long and 1,500-ton TBMs with a diameter of 9.5 meters.

Karavanke tunnel with Austria remains closed for buses, trucks

Kranj – The Karavanke tunnel, the country’s motorway connection with Austria in the north-west of Slovenia, has reopened to personal vehicles while it remains closed in both directions for buses and trucks over 3.5 tonnes due to “technical problems”. The tunnel was fully closed between around 11:20am and 3pm.

Sculptures linking Slovenia and Austria in tribute to WWII prisoners

Ljubelj – A sculpture by Japanese artist Seiji Kimoto has been unveiled at the Slovenian side of the Ljubelj Pass tunnel in memory of the prisoners of the Nazi concentration camp who built the tunnel during World War II in an exact match to the one on the Austrian side.

Sofia: The Subway will Reach “Levski G” Neighborhood in 2025

Another three kilometers of the subway will be ready by the end of 2025. "Metropolitan" EAD signed three contracts for the construction of three stations and their adjacent tunnels from the extension of the third line of the Sofia metro under "Vladimir Vazov" Blvd. in the neighborhoods "Hadji Dimitar" and "Levski G", announced "Metropolitan" EAD.
