Türk Telekom Group has allocated two thirds of its investments, which by the end of this year will be approximately 20 billion Turkish Liras ($6.7 billion) since 2005, to infrastructure and fiber, CEO Rami Aslan said on Sept. 2.

Vodafone Turkey wants to pay the tender price of 778 million euros it offered in a recent deal for advanced 4G technologies in cash this year, CEO Gökhan Ö?üt said on Aug. 28 as reported by Reuters. 

Leading mobile operator in Turkey Turkcell has decided to establish a consumer financing company with a capital ceiling of up to 500 million Turkish Liras ($171.5 million), it said in a written statement to the Public Disclosure Platform on Aug. 27.

Turkey?s three existing mobile operators, Turkcell, Vodafone and Avea, have won the rights to the country?s advanced 4G network due to be established for a sum of more than 1.14 billion euros, in the Aug. 26 tender held by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority.

Another bidder, Netgsm, declined to make an offer.

Dramatic losses in Kazakhstan?s currency, the tenge, after the country?s transition to a free floating rate may negatively affect a number of Turkish companies that are very active in the country, according to analysts. 

Turkey's biggest mobile operator Turkcell and defense company Aselsan signed a framework agreement to develop joint projects in 5G technologies, Turkcell said in a written statement July 6. 

Turkey's leading mobile phone operator, Turkcell, has signed an agreement to acquire a 44.96 percent stake in Euroasia Telecommunications Holding, which owns 100 percent of Astelit LLC, the Ukrainian mobile operator of "life:)".

Turkcell already has a 55 percent stake in the "life:)" brand in Ukraine.

Turkcell, Turkey's leading mobile phone operator, has launched Ukraine's first 3G GSM network service through the Life:) brand. 

The brand, 55 percent of which is owned by Turkcell, was awarded 3G mobile licenses in Ukraine in February. 

Türk Telekom offered on April 22 to buy the remaining $300 million stake it doesn?t already own in mobile company Avea, a deal that would allow it to avoid having to float the struggling wireless firm.

Turkey's defense procurement institution has unveiled a critical component in the country's establishment of a 4G network, which is expected to be operational by the first day of 2016.
