Turkey to retaliate heavily if cease-fire violated

Turkey will respond heavily if the cease-fire with Russia is violated in northwestern Syria's Idlib, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on March 11.

If the relevant parties of the Moscow deal violate the deal, Turkey will "never avoid going over them heavier than before," Erdoğan said at the parliamentary group meeting.

Anadolou quoted the minister as saying in an interview given to the state-run Turkish agency earlier on Tuesday.

Erdoğan urges NATO to support Turkey in 'critical time'

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on March 9 called on NATO members to show their alliance with Turkey "at this critical time."

"NATO is in a critical period in which it should clearly show the alliance's solidarity [with Turkey]," Erdoğan told reporters during a press conference alongside NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

EU, Turkey seeking to keep lines of communication open on migration

"The lines of communication with Turkey remain open and active," European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said following a meeting in Brussels on Monday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which ended without an agreement on the way forward following Turkish moves to encourage thousands of migrants and refugees to push through the Greek border into the European Union.
