Beşiktaş gained a 3-2 comeback win over Fraport TAV Antalyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig on Sept. 18.

Goals from Haji Wright and Veysel Sarı in the last three minutes of the first half gave the home side a 2-0 lead at the Antalya Stadium.

Turkey will take on the Netherlands in an away game in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, hoping to put its campaign back on track.

Fenerbahçe will host Antalyaspor on Aug. 22 after grabbing a 1-0 victory over HJK Helsinki in a UEFA Europa League playoffs first leg match on Aug. 19.

Galatasaray confirmed the signing of Turkish winger Barış Alper Yılmaz from the lower division side Ankara Keçiörengücü on July 9. 

The 21-year old player inked a contract with the Lions until 2026.

"We welcome Barış Alper Yılmaz to our club and wish him a successful career with the Galatasaray jersey," Galatasaray said.

The Turkish national football team manager has said they are "sorry" for their failure in the UEFA EURO 2020 but he is not currently considering resignation from his job.

Turkey wants to end its Euro 2020 campaign on a high note when it plays Switzerland in a Group A game in Baku on June 20.

 Turkey has yet to score a goal in the tournament with two losses in two games, 3-0 to Italy and 2-0 to Wales, and has lost its chances of finishing the group in the top two to advance. 

Turkey expects a tough match against Italy in Friday's UEFA EURO 2020 opener in Rome, the Turkish national football team manager said on June 10. 

"I expect tomorrow's match will be in a high level technically, tactically and physically," Şenol Güneş said in a pre-match press conference, referring to both teams' high concentration and challenging playing style on the pitch.

The 2021 Turkish Süper Lig football champions, Beşiktaş, received the championship cup on May 19 in a ceremony as fans of the Istanbul club rejoiced.
