Turkey eyes better ties with Germany in 2018: Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu

Turkey believes ties with Germany will improve in 2018 after a year of strained relations in 2017, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has said, calling on European countries to stop what he called “Turkey-bashing trends.” and stop attacking President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.”

Turkey Handed Over the 6- month Presidency of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation to Ukraine

 Turkey handed over the six-month rotating presidency of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) to Ukraine on Thursday, Anadolu Agency reported.

Following the 36th BSEC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Istanbul, Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Yildiz made the handover to Ukraine.

Germany to EU: Do not end Turkey talks

Germany on April 28 urged fellow EU nations not to end membership talks with Turkey because the country is key to European interests.

Austria has led calls for the negotiations to be ditched, saying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has violated the basic EU rule of law and democratic norms candidate countries must put in place.

Turkey, Ukraine sign passport-free travel deal to boost tourism

Turkey and Ukraine have signed an agreement allowing their citizens to travel to each other's countries with only an identity card, in a bid to boost tourism. 

The agreement was inked on March 14 during Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman's visit to Ankara upon Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım's invitation.
