Turkey nuke plant to last 100 years: Russia

Turkey's first nuclear power plant to be built on the country's southern coast will connect Turkey and Russia for at least 100 years, said the plant's Russian builder, Rosatom.

"We are giving 60 years of guarantee for the Akkuyu nuclear plant, but I'm sure that it will have a lifespan of 80-100 years," said Rosatom CEO Sergei Kirienko.

ISIL attacks Kurdish-held post on Syria-Turkey border

Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants attacked a Kurdish-controlled post on the Syrian-Turkish border Nov 29 for the first time, a monitor and Turkish officials said.

The attack on the post separating the Syrian town of Kobane from Turkey was followed by fierce clashes between Kurdish and ISIL fighters.

Turkey wants to increase defense exports to $25 billion

Turkish defense producers aim to boost exports to $25 billion by 2023, from $1.5 billion this year, Defense Industry Undersecretary İsmail Demir stated on Nov. 28.    

Demir said Turkey aims to have defense companies among the top 100 major companies in the world, and to create at least three global brands in the defense sector.
