Major rebound for Thessaloniki tourism

Tourism in Thessaloniki has made a major recovery this year, thanks to the rise in both Greek and foreign visitors.
Thessaloniki Hoteliers Association data for the year to end-August showed that the number of overnight stays in the city soared by 17.9 percent from the same period in 2013, to rise from 1,104,941 to 1,302,347.

Turkish Lira/dollar rate hits highest level since January
The Turkish Lira/U.S. dollar rate rose to 2.292 on Oct. 1, its highest level since Jan. 27, just before the Turkish Central Bank intervened to stop a slide in value of the lira on Jan. 29.
