Turkey asks Black Sea organization to vacate historic HQ
The Permanent International Secretariat of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) has been asked by the Turkish Foreign Ministry to vacate its headquarters in a historical waterfront building (yalı) on the European side of the Bosphorus.

President Erdoğan appoints new head of Turkey’s Higher Education Board
President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄan appointed Professor Yekta Saraç as new head of Turkeyâs Higher Education Board (YÃK) on Nov. 12.
Saraç, who was the acting head of YÃK after former head Gökhan Ãetinsaya was removed from his post, was appointed as the new head of YÃK by President ErdoÄan.

The Culture Ministry has announced that a total of 20,269,000 people visited Turkish museums and historic sites in the first eight months of 2014. The total number throughout the whole of 2013 was 29,481,000. Here is the list of the top 10 most visited museums in Turkey, according to the latest figures:

Both AKP and PKK unhappy with Turkish govt’s Kurdish dialogue

Atatürk to be marked on death’s anniversary
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, is set to be commemorated on the 76th anniversary of his passing on Nov. 10, with official and unofficial ceremonies across the country.
In a written statement issued for the occasion from the Presidency, President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄan said the country remembered the founder of the Republic with mercy and respect.
