Turkish cryptocurrency boss arrested in Albania
The founder of a cryptocurrency exchange Thodex, suspected of having fled Turkey with the assets of his clients, has been arrested in Albania, the Turkish Interior Ministry said on Aug. 30.
Türkiye issued an international arrest warrant in April last year for fugitive businessman Faruk Fatih Özer, who fled with a reported $2 billion in investors' assets.

Fugitive Turkish Cryptocurrency Businessman Arrested in Albania
Elbasan prosecutor Kreshnik Ajazi confirmed to BIRN on Tuesday that fugitive Turkish Faruk Fatih Ozer, suspected of staging a massive cryptocurrency scam, is being held in the Albanian city, saying that "he was arrested today in Elbasan".
160 migrants pushed back by Greece saved on Aegean
Turkish Coast Guard teams have saved a total of 160 migrants pushed back by Greek forces on the Aegean Sea in two different locations.
The first incident happened off the southwestern province of Muğla's Bodrum district early Aug. 28 when Coast Guard officers saved some 64 migrants pushed back by Greece.

Greece activates S-300s against Turkish F-16s over Aegean
Türkiye has accused Greece of continued "hostile acts" against the Turkish jets, this time by activating the Russian-made S-300 air defense system based on Crete Island.
In earlier incidents in the past week, the Greek jetfighters twice harassed the Turkish F-16s carrying out NATO missions over the eastern Mediterranean and Aegean.

The officials from Türkiye, Sweden and Finland have agreed to intensify technical works for the two Nordic states' accession to the alliance, said the Turkish presidency in a statement on Aug. 26.
‘Digital twins’ of cities to be prepared: Vice President
Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay has announced that the officials are preparing "digital twins," a simulation project formed with images from drones to monitor all the 81 provinces.
Speaking at a council organized by the directorate general of geographic information systems, an affiliate of the Environment Ministry, Oktay introduced the project.
