Türkiye to light first gas flare on land from Black Sea in March 2023: Minister
Energy Minister Fatih Dönmez said the work on the natural gas discovered in the Black Sea continues and they aim to "burn this gas on land in the first quarter of 2023, in March."
Türkiye aims to finalize its current drills for natural gas in the Black Sea wells in 2023, the minister told the Anadolu Agency on Aug. 11.
Export climate index drops in July
The Türkiye manufacturing export climate index posted 50 in July, data from the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO) has shown.
The reading was down from 51.8 in June, thereby ending a period of improvement in the export climate stretching back to February 2021, the chamber said.

Türkiye targets to send Turksat 6A to space next year
Türkiye aims to send another satellite, Türksat 6A, to space in the second quarter of 2023, Transport Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu has said.
Türkiye was one of the countries to send two new-generation satellites to orbit within a year, he said, referring to the launches of Türksat 5A at the start of 2021, and Türksat 5B toward the end of 2021.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, a Turkish-English actress and model, has been crowned the winner of "Love Island," a U.K. reality show, with her Italian partner, Davide Sanclimenti, winning the show's $61,000 prize money.
The pair, both 27, said they "could not believe" they won at the end of the ITV2 dating show's final stage on late Aug. 2.

Istanbul named among world’s best cities in 2022
A U.K.-based culture magazine has picked the world's best 53 cities, ranking Türkiye's largest city Istanbul in the list.
Out of the 53 ranked cities chosen by the Time Out magazine, Edinburgh made it to the top of the list and was followed by Chicago and Medellin, while Istanbul was listed 50th.

State Department dismisses territorial claims against Greece by Erdogan’s coalition partner
