Turkish Airlines posts $161 million profit in first quarter
Turkish Airlines swung a net income of $161 million in the first quarter of 2022 from a net loss of $229 million in January-March 2019.
Total revenues of the flag carrier grew more than 10 percent in the first three months of this year compared to the first quarter of 2019 to reach $3.05 billion.
THY to expand international network with new routes
Turkey's flag carrier plans to expand its network of international destinations and kick start a restructuring of its low-cost carrier brand AnadoluJet, according to Ahmet Bolat, the chairman of the board of directors and the executive committee of Turkish Airlines.

Turkish Airlines’ former chair to take helm at Air India: Tata Group
İlker Aycı, former head of Turkish Airlines' executive board and committee, was appointed the CEO of India's national carrier Air India, Tata Sons Group announced on Feb. 14.
Aycı, who was chair of the Turkish Airlines for more than seven years, resigned on Jan. 27.
Turkish flag carrier celebrates 75th anniversary of its 1st international flight
Turkish Airlines celebrated the 75th anniversary of its first international flight with a small-scale ceremony in Athens, the first international destination of the nation's flag carrier.
In 1947 the company operated its first international flight on a route from the capital Ankara to Istanbul to Athens, Greece, a flight taking took two hours and 40 minutes.
SunExpress to launch 3 new destinations to Baltics
SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa Group, added new routes to its Europe network as part of its summer schedule, according to a company statement.
The airline will start its direct mutual flights between Antalya and its new destinations, Riga, and Tallinn, as of April, it said on Feb. 1.

Turkish Airlines management reshuffled after chair resigned
The top management of Turkey's flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, was overhauled on Jan. 27 after three members of its board and executive committee, including chairperson İlker Aycı, resigned from their posts.
Ahmet Bolat has been appointed new chairman of Turkish Airlines' board and executive committee, a statement after a board meeting on Jan. 27 said.
Chaos in Istanbul; all flights suspended
"The flight suspension has been extended until 10:00 GMT (11:00 a.m. CET) on January 25 due to unfavorable weather conditions," the airport in Istanbul said on its website, Reuters reports.
Turkish authorities today declared administrative leave for all employees in public institutions in order to reduce mobility.
