Aselsan signs $35.5 million avionics deal
Turkish defense giant Aselsan has struck a $35.5 million avionics systems export deal, according to a statement issued to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on May 20.
The statement did not identify the foreign company involved in the agreement.
Deliveries as part of the deal will be made next year, and in 2023, it said.

Turkish Airlines carried 2.4 mln passengers in April
Turkey's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines carried nearly 2.4 million passengers in April, according to a statement sent to Turkey's Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on May 11.
Last month's figure was down 60 percent compared to the pre-pandemic period in April 2019, the airline data showed.

Turkish Airlines reaped $1.8 billion total revenue in the first quarter of 2021, down 29% year-on-year amid pandemic-related travel restrictions around the world, the flag carrier announced on May 4.
Turkish Airlines to resume flights from UK, Denmark
Flag carrier Turkish Airlines will resume flights from the U.K. and Denmark, the company's CEO said on April 22.
"Based on the decision taken by our authorities, the passengers from the U.K. and Denmark will be allowed to arrive in Turkey on condition of performing negative PCR test that was done in the last 72 hours," Bilal Ekşi said on Twitter.
Turkish Airlines suspends Russia flights
Starting on April 15, Turkish flag carrier Turkish Airlines has suspended flights service to Russia until June 1, mirroring a decision by Moscow.
The only exception to the suspension is twice-weekly service from Istanbul to Moscow and then back, said the carrier on Wednesday.

Pilots rescued after aircraft crashes off Turkey’s Aegean coast
A Turkish military jet trainer crashed on April 9 in the Aegean Sea, the Turkish Defense Ministry said.
According to a ministry statement, the two pilots of the KT-1 type plane that crashed during its regular training flight were rescued by Turkish Coast Guard teams.
The plane crashed due to engine failure, it said.
