Opposition will win presidency in first round of polls, vows CHP chief

The opposition's candidate for the presidency will win the polls against incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the first round, the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader has vowed, also predicting that the opposition alliance will garner the parliamentary majority.

Erdoğan hails strategic partnership with Slovenia

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Aug. 10 hailed the strategic partnership between Türkiye and Slovenia which was established in 2011.

Erdoğan and President Borut Pahor of Slovenia held a joint press conference following their tête-à-tête and the meeting between the delegations at the Presidential Complex.

CHP, İYİ Party call for early elections

 

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and İYİ (Good) Party chair Meral Akşener on Nov. 17 called for early elections.

"We are making a clear call: You [government] cannot run the country. Go to elections as soon as possible," Kılıçdaroğlu said in a joint press conference with the İYİ Party leader.

People’s Alliance to continue as long as the nation wants: Bahçeli

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli has said his party's People's Alliance with the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) would continue as long as the people of Turkey want.

"We did not just form an electoral alliance," he told daily Türkgün in an interview on July 30.
