Bottas wins Turkish Grand Prix as Verstappen reclaims championship lead

Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas claimed his first chequered flag of the season to win the Turkish Grand Prix on Oct. 10 as Max Verstappen reclaimed the lead in the title race.     

The Red Bull driver finished second to take a six-point lead in the championship ahead of Bottas' teammate Lewis Hamilton who could only finish fifth.     

Prices for F1 Turkish Grand Prix tickets unveiled

Ticket prices for this fall's Formula One Turkish Grand Prix were revealed on July 12, ranging from about 300 to 3,300 Turkish liras ($35-$382) with a discount for early purchases.

Ticket outlet Biletix said that platinum category tickets- the most expensive group- will cost 3,300 Turkish liras ($382), if purchased before July 31.

Turkish Grand Prix added to calendar on October 3: Formula One

The Turkish Grand Prix has been added to the Formula One calendar on October 3, replacing the cancelled Singapore Grand Prix, the world championship promoter announced on June 25.

The Turkish GP was first added to the calendar for June 13, replacing Canada, but was cancelled in the face of coronavirus travel restrictions.

Formula 1 cancels Turkish Grand Prix

The Turkish Grand Prix in the 2021 Formula One World Championship scheduled for June has been canceled, it was announced on May 14. 

"Formula 1 has provided an update on the 2021 race calendar, with new Covid-19 travel restrictions meaning it's no longer possible to race in Turkey on June 11-13," Formula One said in a statement.

Fans name Turkish Grand Prix best race of year

The Turkish Grand Prix in the Formula 1 has taken the majority of the fans' votes to be the best race of the year, the organizers said on Dec. 24. 

"That's right, you chose the Turkish Grand Prix as your best race of the year," Formula 1 said on its website.

Held on November 15, the Turkish Grand Prix had the 33% of the votes to win the polls.

Motor racing-Rosberg gets the jump on Hamilton in Austria

Nico Rosberg won the Austrian Formula One Grand Prix for the second year in a row in a Mercedes one-two finish with team mate Lewis Hamilton on June 21 .

Hamilton's overall championship lead was cut to 10 points, after eight of the 19 races, with the Briton starting on pole position but beaten crucially into the first corner by the determined German.
