Greece, Greek Cyprus dreaming: Turkish FM
The Greek Cypriot and Greek sides are "dreaming" when they push for lifting all guarantees. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said yesterday, when he was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the talks in the Swiss Alpine resort of Crans-Montana.

Cyprus conference to meet for last chance
The Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot leaders are set to meet once again at an open-ended conference to be reconvened in the Swiss resort of Crans Montana on June 28 with the participation of the three guarantor powers - Greece, Turkey and the United Kingdom - in a bid to end decades-old division and settle for a united new state for the island.

A settlement on Cyprus requires the two peoples of Cyprus, as well as Greece and Turkey, to put aside emotional and unrealistic designs, abandon utopias, hallucinations, dreams and concentrate on a power-sharing scheme between the "two equal constituent people" of the island.

Britain, a guarantor of Cyprus, has upped the pace of its diplomatic traffic with the parties ahead of a five-way conference to be held in Geneva to reach a final agreement for the reunification of Cyprus.

Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots are ready to take part in a summit in Geneva to work out a peace accord reunifying ethnically divided Cyprus as long as Greek Cypriots drop unacceptable "conditions," Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Thursday.
Remains of identified soldiers to be returned to Greece from Cyprus
Soldiers hold framed portraits on coffins containing the identified remains of 17 Greek soldiers who were killed during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, at a formal ceremony on Friday in Nicosia. The remains were to be flown back to Greece on a Hellenic Air Force transport aircraft. Most of the 17 soldiers were serving with the Greek military contingent on the island.
