For the love of dogs
A few years ago, I was walking around Netsel Marina in Marmaris, where the Marmaris Animal Friends Association was having a fundraising event for animals. I went up to my friend's stall, to see what I could buy. As I looked around, this small, white bundle of fluff came out from under the table. Two large, soulful, brown eyes looked up at me.

The 53rd International Antalya Film Festival opened on Oct. 16 at the EXPO 2016 Antalya Congress Center with the presentation of awards to a number of important Turkish actors and guests of honor.
Police detain 25 suspects over Antalya explosion
Police detained some 25 suspects on Oct. 15 over an explosion in the southern resort of Antalya on Oct. 14, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Police organized simultaneous operations across the country, including in the capital Ankara as well as Istanbul, to detain the suspects.

Two rockets fired from mountainous area in Antalya, no casualties reported
A group of unidentified militants carried out rocket attacks on the Antalya-Kemer road on Oct. 14, hitting a fisherman's depot in the area.
The attacks did not cause any casualties.
Untouched ancient burial chamber found in Turkey's Muğla
A burial chamber dating back to 2,400 years ago was recently unearthed at a construction site in the southwestern province of Muğla's Milas district.
Milas Archaeology Museum officials found 103 artifacts in the burial chamber, untouched and unlooted for millennia, which is thought to have belonged to a wealthy local family.
Turkish archer dies in motorcycle accident in Muğla
National archer Nursen Çokak was killed in a traffic accident on Oct. 9 in the Aegean province of Muğla, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Çokak was driving on the Muğla-Marmaris highway heading to Marmaris with her husband Hakan Çokak and their friends when they crashed their motorcycle at around 1:00 p.m.

Bodrum Castle, the symbol of the popular touristic town of Bodrum in Turkey's western province of Muğla, is one of the 10 new places proposed to the World Heritage Tentative list, aiming to enter UNESCO's World Heritage list.

Police officer in Turkey's Muğla dies after gun accidentally fires
A police officer was killed on Sept. 28 when a gun under his pillow allegedly fired accidentally in the Köyceğiz district of the Aegean province of Muğla, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Fatih Keskin, 42, who had been working as a police officer for 21 years, was allegedly killed when the gun under his pillow accidently fired and shot him in the head.
