Türkiye hosts FIVB Volleyball Women Championship in Antalya
Türkiye will be hosting the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship for the second successive time, the Turkish Volleyball Federation has announced.
"The competition will be held in [the southern province of] Antalya between Dec. 14 and 18," it said in a statement.
Türkiye will be represented in the tournament with two teams, Vakıfbank and Eczacıbaşı Dynavit.
Fenerbahçe’s Vargas becomes Turkish citizen
Turkish volleyball club Fenerbahçe Opet's Cuban-born player Melissa Vargas was granted Turkish citizenship on April 10.
In a statement, Fenerbahçe said Melissa Teresa Vargas Abreu, 21, was given her Turkish identity card by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after the Turkish Volleyball Federation's application for Vargas had been confirmed.

Turkish basketball, volleyball leagues canceled due to pandemic
Turkey's basketball and volleyball leagues will not return to action this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"We are ending all our leagues," Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) President Hidayet Türkoğlu told reporters after a 90-minute board meeting on May 11.
