Six European countries in the top 20 destinations

Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis announced the country's plan for a restart of tourism from May 15. According to tour operators, active bookings for the tourist season have already begun, both from European countries, as well as from the US and Russia.

Almost a third of the world's destinations are currently completely closed to international tourists because of the pandemic, the UN tourism body said.

The Greek economy's great dependence on tourism and the global slump in tourism flows this year was the main reason observers put the country's economic contraction estimates for 2020 at 9-10%, a new report by Ernst & Young Greece notes.

How Bulgarian Tourism Survives in Time of Pandemic?

The team of Novini.bg asked Assoc. Prof. Rumen Draganov, President of the Confederation of Tourism Business in Bulgaria, for an expert opinion on the situation in tourism during the Coronavirus crisis.

Turks are increasingly passing up skyrocketing hotel prices in favor of budget-friendly camping vacations. The sale of camping equipment such as tents has accordingly almost doubled. Some stores have expanded their camping sections to accommodate the growing demand.

The 12 wine-culinary destinations are digitized and available on the website of the Ministry of Tourism. They have been developed under the project "Share Bulgaria", which is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forests.
