Syrian refugees may offer chances for Turkey's tourism industry
The Turkish international tourism business has suffered badly due to regional political developments. The unrest and civil war in neighboring countries including Iraq and Syria have had a spillover effect on Turkey, which as a tourist destination is no longer perceived to be as safe as it once was.
China declares 2018 'Turkey Tourism Year'
China has declared 2018 as its "Turkey Tourism Year," in a move expected to boost ties between the two countries, Chinese Ambassador to Ankara Yu Hongyang said on Dec. 16.

Additionally he pointed out that the country Slovenia improve its tourism records because of hard work, not because some other locations are temporarily affected by crises of different nature. Moreover, Dr Taleb emphasizes, that tourism can have a transformative power to foster peace and reconciliation.

Turkey should distance itself from "all inclusive" tourism and focus on faith and nature tourism in order to draw tourists who will spend money in the country.

Global exhibition organizer says bookings hurt by Turkey coup attempt
Exhibition organizer ITE Group Plc said on Oct. 3 that the attempted coup in Turkey in July had "significantly affected" international travel to the country, hurting the company's bookings on Turkish events.

The 9th international conference for Cultural Tourism in Europe took place in Guimaraes, on the theme ‘Intangible Heritage: Incomparable Asset for Sustainable and Responsible Tourism Development’.
Turkey wants to boost halal tourism: Minister
Turkey will speed up works to develop "halal tourism" in a bid to lure even more Muslim tourists, Culture and Tourism Minister Mahir Ünal said at the opening of the Halal Tourism Conference 2016 in the Central Anatolian province of Konya.
Ünal said Turkey is stepping up its efforts to boost halal tourism, which has a share of around 12 percent in the global tourism.
