Tzeni Karezi

After selling out the Neos Kosmos Theater, actor Giorgos Chrysostomou's unique one-man show, "Mute," moves to the larger Jenny Karezi Theater for a series of twice-weekly performances on Mondays and Tuesdays until February 11. The show is set in 1998 Thessaloniki and is inspired by Chrysostomou's life. Performances start at 9 p.m. Tickets cost 18 euros.

Jenny Karezi was one of Greece’s most talented and beautiful actresses. Her onscreen chemistry with Alekos Alexandrakis was legendary. Jenny Kazakos, the 17-year-old granddaughter of the late actress and daughter of Konstantinos Kazakos and Tania Trypi definitely got her genes from her grandmother.

Iconic Greek actress Zoe Laskari passed away at her home in Porto Rafti, Friday afternoon at the age of 75. Zoe Laskari, who was born in Thessaloniki, was one the three female actresses that marked the golden era of Greek movies in the 50s and 60s, the other two being Aliki Vougiouklaki and Jenny Karezi.
