Romanian Officials 'Dodging Accountability for Protest Violence'

Romanian government officials came under heavy criticism from the opposition and civil society organisations on Tuesday for dodging accountability over the security forces' use of violence against anti-corruption protesters on August 10.

Clashes in Kiev Between Protesters and Police

Demonstrators were arrested in protests and clashes in front of the parliament in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. One policeman is injured, reports bTV.

Several hundred people gathered outside the Verkhovna Rada to demand a swift adoption of a new law on the reintegration of the regions in eastern Ukraine controlled by the separatists.

Assassination Attempt on Ukrainian MP, he Lives

Interior Ministry of Ukraine reported the explosion of a car in Kiev, as a result of which two people were injured. Later, it turned out that the wounded were five. Spokesperson of the Radical Party Anna Sennik, told the 112 channel Ukraine that the parliamentarian Igor Mosychuk and his bodyguard were injured in the car blast. The two were hospitalized, according to BGNews.

The words “School of corruption” were written across her breasts while she was ringing a school bell, protesting what the group perceives as a corrupt Ukrainian parliament.

Feminist activists of FEMEN hung a big banner from a church to protest French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen in the depressed northern town of Henin-beaumont, where she cast her ballot.
The activists were quickly detained after the protest Sunday in Henin-Beaumont, the latest among many actions in recent days against Le Pen or against both candidates.
