The underground city of Saint Mercurius, located in the Saratlı village of the Central Anatolian province of Aksaray, is famous for its 40 living spaces such as its church, mass graves, water wells, floor furnaces, pigeon houses, cellars and warehouse roofs.

Ancient underground city in Cappadocia will 'rewrite history'
An underground city found in Turkey's touristic Cappadocia will "rewrite the history of the city," according to the mayor in the Central Anatolian Nev?ehir province, adding they had discovered people had permanently lived in the underground city, unlike other cities which were mostly carved into rocks for temporary protection.

Tourists flock to 3,000-year-old underground city in Bayburt
Foreign and domestic tourists are continuing to flock to the famed "Underground City" claimed to be around 3,000 years old in the southeastern province of Bayburt. The ancient figures on the walls, in particular, draw great attention from visitors.
The underground city was brought to light in 1988 during construction work in the Ayd?ntepe district, 25 kilometers outside of Bayburt.
