Singer back to monofin swimming after 12 years

Turkish singer Su Soley, who had to retire professional swimming some 12 years ago due to injuries, is back to monofin swimming, daily Milliyet has reported.

The 40-year-old singer is training in an Olympic pool twice a week.

"Esra Önen, the captain, asked me to join the swimming team," Soley said and added: "I'm so proud."

Turkish swimmer wins historic gold at world championships

Turkish swimmer Derin Toparlak made history by bagging the gold medal in the men's 1,500 meters from the CMAS Finswimming Senior World Championships.

Toparlak became the world champion with a time of 12.38.27 in the men's 1,500 meters in the event, which started on July 5 in Tomsk, Russia, said a Turkish Underwater Sports Federation (TSSF) statement.

Turkey takes underwater hockey crown for 2nd time

Turkish U23 men's team emerged victorious on July 21, 4th World Age Group Underwater Hockey Championships held in Hobart, Australia. 

Turkey beat France by a score of 3-1 in the championship final. The under-23-years-of-age team finished the group stage in first place, beat Argentina in the quarter-finals 12-0, and beat Colombia 2-0 in the semi-finals.
