Turkey's unemployment rate down to 13.2 pct in 2020

Turkey's unemployment rate dropped by 0.5 percentage points to 13.2 percent in 2020, the country's statistical authority said on March 22.

Last year, the number of unemployed people was 4.08 million, down from 4.4 million in 2019, TÜİK figures showed.

Meanwhile, the number of unemployed people - aged 15 and over - was 4.06 million last year, down from 4.4 million in 2019.

Unemployment rate at 12.9 percent in November 2020

Turkey's unemployment rate was 12.9 percent with a 0.4-percentage-point decrease year on year in November 2020, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced on Feb. 10.

The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over decreased 303,000 to 4 million as of November 2020 compared to the same month of 2019, according to the institute.

Unemployment rate down in Sept

Turkey's unemployment rate was 12.7% in September, showing a decrease of 1.1 percentage points year-on-year, the Turkish Statistical Institute announced on Dec. 10. 

The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over decreased by 550,000 to just over 4 million as of September compared to the same month last year, according to the institute.

Unemployment rate at 13.3 pct in Nov

Turkey's unemployment stood at 13.3. percent in November 2019, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said on Feb. 10.

November's figures showed a 0.1 percentage point fall compared to October 2019, when unemployment stood at 13.4 percent.

The rate for employment dropped by 0.9 percentage points and hit 45.6 percent, almost 28.17 million people, the data showed.
