Bulgaria: Lowest Unemployment Rate Registered in November

The country's recorded unemployment rate in November was 6.7 percent, the lowest recorded since the end of the state of emergency on May 13, 2020, the latest employment agency data show.

Compared to the previous month, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 percentage points, but rose by 0.9 percentage points compared to a year earlier (to November 2019).

Foreigners in one out of nine jobs in Slovenia

The overall number of people in a job in the country increased by half a percent from September and by 1.8% since October 2018, according to a report from the Statistics Office.

Roughly 10% of those having a job (92,885) were self-employed. Their number fell by 1.6% year-on-year. The number of other people in employment rose by 2.2% in the same time to 808,400.

In the third quarter of 2019 there were 125.4 thousand unemployed persons, of whom 70.9 thousand (56.5%) men and 54.5 thousand (43.5%) women. The unemployment rate was 3.7% and went down by 1.3 percentage points from the third quarter of 2018. The unemployment rate was 3.8% for men and 3.4% for women.

Sofia. The unemployment rate is lower by 0.8 percentage points in the second quarter of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017, according to the National Statistical Institute. The employment rate for population aged 15-64 was 67.9%, up by 0.7 percentage points compared to the same quarter of 2017.

Unemployment rate: 4.7 percent in Q4 2017, unemployment among youth: 21.2 percent, highest level

The national unemployment rate of the previous year's last quarter was 4.7 percent, equal to the one recorded in the previous quarter, and the highest level of unemployment, of 21.2 pct was reached among young people (15-24 years old), according to data released on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
